Headspace

The headspace is the space of gas above the sample in a bottle.  The Volatile sample components diffuse into the gas phase, forming the headspace gas.

Molecular Weight

The molecular weight of a compound is the sum of the atomic weights of the atoms in the molecules that form these compounds. It is often used interchangeably with molecular mass in chemistry, but, molecular mass is a measure of mass and molecular weight is a measure of force acting on the molecular mass.

But in relation with the intensity of the soap fragrance, bigger particles are harder to move than smaller molecules. Additionally, physical constitution of a particle will affect the rate of diffusion.  As the rate of diffusion affects the intensty of a fragrance. (E.g. A mouse squeezing under a door as compared to a rock, of the same size. A mouse will more easily be able to squeeze through the gap)

Intensity of smell

The intensity of a smell cannot be measured as the intensity is affected by the evalueters background.

Vapour Pressure

Pressure exerted by vapour during thermodynamic equilibrium, which means when it is not volatile, or undergoing any phase changes at a given temperature. Measured in pascal (Pa), which converts one pascal to one newton per square meter.
